Abstract

The current thesis addresses the concepts of strategic renewal and organizational creativity. The importance of this study stems from the significance of these two variables, namely faculty members, who represent the cornerstone of the educational institution. In light of this, the study seeks to identify the relationship between strategic renewal and organizational creativity among department heads at Al-Kut Private University, from the perspective of the faculty members themselves. This is achieved through the following objectives: 1- To diagnose the level of strategic renewal among department heads in private colleges and to determine the extent to which they adopt innovative methods and strategies in managing their departments. 2- To reveal the level of organizational creativity present among department heads. 3- To establish a correlation between strategic renewal and organizational creativity. 4- To identify any differences in the levels of strategic renewal and organizational creativity based on variables such as gender, specialization, and academic title. The researcher employed a descriptive correlational approach in selecting the research sample size using stratified random sampling. The sample size consisted of 265 faculty members from Al-Kut University. The researcher developed a Strategic Renewal Scale, based on Michael Hamel's definition, which included the following domains: (Renewal and modernization in vision and objectives, modernization in structure and organization, renewal in processes and procedures, and innovation in technology). She also developed an Organizational Creativity Scale, based on Teresa Amabile's (1996) definition, consisting of 30 items. To analyze the data, the researcher used a range of appropriate statistical methods, including a one-sample t-test, an independent samples t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, and one-way ANOVA. The data were statistically processed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS(. The results showed a positive relationship between the two variables, indicating that department heads possess high levels of strategic renewal and organizational creativity, according to faculty members. No statistically significant differences were found at the 0.05 level in the level of strategic renewal among department heads, as perceived by faculty members, based on gender. The study considered the variables of gender (male, female), specialization (scientific, humanities), and academic title (professor, assistant professor, lecturer, teaching assistant). Statistically significant differences were found for the organizational creativity variable, favoring males, as detailed in Chapter Four. Based on these findings, the researcher formulated several conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions, also presented in Chapter Four.
