Academic Decision-Making and Its Relationship to Tolerance among Secondary School Teachers

The current study addressed the concepts of Academic Decision-Making and Tolerance. Academic decision-making involves a conscious and systematic thinking process that culminates in selecting one of the available alternatives to solve a particular problem or achieve a specific goal. It relies on an individual's experience and personal perspective. Scientifically, decision-making requires following a sequence of steps, including identifying the problem and objective, gathering relevant information, determining the factors influencing the problem, formulating appropriate alternatives, selecting the most suitable option, and subsequently evaluating the outcomes to determine the effectiveness of the decision in solving the problem or achieving the intended objective. Academic decision-making represents one of the challenges faced by teachers, which may negatively affect their professional self-esteem and professional awareness, thereby hindering the achievement of educational goals. Moreover, reliance on traditional and routine solutions that are inconsistent with contemporary educational challenges constitutes a genuine problem that may adversely influence learning outcomes
