Abstract
Specialized laboratories in the field of knowledge development and scientific research passion a passion for research among researchers, a strong inclination towards purposeful and self-directed research activity that integrates the individual's identity, grants them a sense of meaning and achievement, and motivates them to exert effort and persevere towards their scientific goals. Concurrent thinking about advanced scientific knowledge and engaging with it contributes to the development of individual knowledge, abilities, and potential through the optimal utilization of individual capabilities and energies. The researcher, even in the middle of the night, can engage in more than one mindset, progressing with more than one mindset and being conscious of time. Nevertheless, university instructor is the backbone of society, specializing in its advancement and the prosperity of any society, and preparing a new generation to work on current research to distinguish itself in:
1. Research passion among university instructors.
2. Concurrent thinking among university instructors.
3. The correlational relationship between research passion and concurrent thinking among university instructor according to the variables of gender (male, female) and specialization (scientific, humanitarian).
4. The differences in the correlational relationship between research passion and concurrent thinking among university instructor according to the variables of gender (male, female) and specialization (scientific, humanitarian).
5. The extent of the contribution of research passion to concurrent thinking among university instructors.
The current research is determined by the instructors of Wasit University of both gender (male, female), from both specialties (scientific, humanitarian), and for the academic year (2025 - 2026).
The final application sample consisted of (322) instructors, who were selected using the stratified random sampling method with proportional distribution. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher developed the Research Passion Scale relying on Theory (Vallerand, 2003). Additionally, the researcher adopted (Abdeen, 2014) scale for concurrent thinking. Both scales were presented to a group of specialized judges to assess the validity of their items. Subsequently, their psychometric characteristics were extracted during the application on the statistical analysis sample. After confirming the validity of both scales, they were applied in their final form to the research sample.
After completing the implementation, the researcher used the appropriate statistical methods to analyze the data with the aid of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, and the research results showed the following:
1- University instructors have harmonious research passion and do not have forced research passion.
2- University instructors have concurrent thinking.
3- There is a positive correlation between harmonious research passion and information processing speed, while the results indicated that the other correlation relationships between the dimensions of research passion and the dimensions of concurrent thinking are not statistically significant.
4- The results indicated that the differences in the correlation between research passion and concurrent thinking are not statistically significant according to sex and specialization.
5- Harmonious research passion contributes to information processing speed.
According of these results, the researcher presented some conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions, as explained in Chapter Four.
