Abstract
The current research aims to identify:
Academic well-being among postgraduate students.
Psychological wealth among postgraduate students.
Self-transcendent emotions among postgraduate students.
The correlational relationship between academic well-being and psychological wealth among postgraduate students.
The significance of differences in the correlational relationship between academic well-being and psychological wealth among postgraduate students according to the variables of sex (male, female) and specialization (scientific, humanistic).
The correlational relationship between academic well-being and self-transcendent emotions among postgraduate students.
The significance of differences in the correlational relationship between academic well-being and self-transcendent emotions among postgraduate students according to the variables of sex (male, female) and specialization (scientific, humanistic).
The contribution rate of both psychological wealth and self-transcendent emotions to academic well-being among postgraduate students.
The current research is limited to postgraduate students present at Dhi Qar University of both sexes (male, female) across all specializations (scientific, humanistic) for the academic year (2024–2025).
The final application sample consisted of (365) male and female university students, selected using the stratified random sampling method with proportional distribution. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher constructed the Academic Well-being Scale based on Renshaw's model (2016), as well as the Psychological Wealth Scale based on the theory of Diener and Diener (2009), and the Self-Transcendent Emotions Scale based on Haidt's theory (2003). The three scales were presented to a panel of expert judges to evaluate the validity of their items, after which the psychometric properties were extracted through application to a statistical analysis sample. Following the verification of the validity and reliability of the three scales, they were applied in their final form to the research sample.
After completing the application, the researcher used appropriate statistical methods to analyze the data, aided by the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), and the research results revealed the following:
Postgraduate students possess academic well-being.
The research sample possesses psychological wealth.
The research sample possesses self-transcendent emotions.
There is a statistically significant correlational relationship between academic well-being and psychological wealth.
There is a statistically significant correlational relationship between academic well-being and self-transcendent emotions.
The results indicated that differences in the correlational relationship between academic well-being and psychological wealth among postgraduate students according to sex (male, female) and specialization (scientific, humanistic) are not statistically significant.
The results indicated that differences in the correlational relationship between academic well-being and self-transcendent emotions among postgraduate students according to sex (male, female) and specialization (scientific, humanistic) are not statistically significant.
The results indicated the possibility of predicting academic well-being through the dimensions of psychological wealth (except satisfaction with life), as well as predicting academic well-being through self-transcendent emotions.
In light of these results, the researcher presented several conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions as outlined in Chapter Four.
