Abstract

The university stage serves as a fundamental environment for character formation and development through the refinement of various traits. Emotional integrity stands out as a key human attribute, reflecting an individual's honesty in expressing genuine feelings and desires, as well as acknowledging their own motives and dreams free from the pressure of social judgment. Meanwhile, moral imagination viewed as the capacity to discover and evaluate new possibilities and to adopt ethical stances not rigidly dictated by circumstances or rules—plays a vital role. Both variables are significant within the university setting due to their contribution to fostering self-awareness and responsible behavior, as well as building a balanced personality. Therefore, this research aims to: 1.Emotional integrity among university students. 2.Moral Imagination among university students. 3.The correlation between emotional integrity and Moral Imagination among university students according to the variables of gender (male, female) and specialization (scientific, humanities). 4.Differences in the correlation between emotional integrity and Moral Imagination among university students according to the variables of gender (male, female) and specialization (scientific, humanities). 5. The extent to which Moral Imagination contributes to emotional integrity among university students The current research is limited to students of Wasit University of both genders (males, females) and specialization (scientific, humanities) for the academic year (2025 - 2026) for morning studies. The final application sample consisted of (400) male and female students, selected using stratified random sampling with proportional distribution. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher adopted the (Ahmed, 2024) scale for emotional integrity. The researcher also developed a scale for Moral Imagination based on the theory of (Werhane, 1998-2015). Both research scales were presented to a group of expert reviewers to assess the validity of their items. Their psychometric properties were then determined through application to the statistical analysis sample. After confirming the validity of the two scales, they were administered in their final form to the research sample. After completing the application, the researcher used appropriate statistical methods to analyze the data using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The research results showed the following: 1- University students possess emotional integrity. 2- University students possess Moral Imagination. 3- There is a positive correlation between emotional integrity and the dimension of empathy, while other correlations between emotional integrity and dimensions of Moral Imagination were not statistically significant. 4- The results indicated that differences in the correlation between emotional integrity and dimensions of Moral Imagination were not statistically significant according to gender and specialization, except for differences in the correlation between emotional integrity and the dimension of empathy, which favored females. 5. The ability to put oneself in another's shoes contributes slightly to emotional integrity According of these results, the researcher presented some conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions, as explained in Chapter Four.
