Abstract
The present study addressed the concepts of organizational cohesion and job integrity. The significance of this study stems from the importance of these two variables as well as the importance of the research sample, namely heads of departments, who constitute the backbone of educational institutions. Accordingly, the study sought to identify the relationship between organizational cohesion and its association with job integrity among heads of scientific departments at the University of Wasit from the perspective of faculty members, through the following objectives:
1. To identify the level of organizational cohesion among heads of scientific departments from the perspective of faculty members.
2. To identify the level of job integrity among heads of departments from the perspective of faculty members.
3. To determine the correlational relationship between organizational cohesion and job integrity from the perspective of faculty members.
4. To examine whether there are statistically significant differences in organizational cohesion according to the variables of gender (male/female), specialization, and academic rank.
5. To examine whether there are statistically significant differences in job integrity according to the variables of gender (male/female), specialization, and academic rank.
The researcher adopted the descriptive correlational approach and selected the research sample using a stratified random sampling method. The sample consisted of (323) faculty members from the University of Wasit.
To analyze the data of the current study, the researcher employed a set of appropriate statistical methods, including the one-sample t-test, independent-samples t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). Statistical processing was conducted using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS).
The findings revealed a positive relationship between the two variables and indicated that heads of scientific departments possess high levels of organizational cohesion and job integrity according to the perceptions of faculty members. The results were in favor of females, those holding the academic ranks of Professor and Assistant Professor, and the humanities specialization, as detailed in Chapter Four.
Based on the findings of the current study, the researcher formulated a number of conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions, as presented in Chapter Four.
