Abstract

This study addresses the doubts raised about the Holy Quran, particularly with regard to its content, the knowledge of God, and the doctrine of resurrection. The doubts are presented and analyzed in a rigorous scientific manner, emphasizing the need to understand the Quranic texts in their context and avoid superficial interpretations. The book Christian Doubts about the Qur'an by Sheikh Muhammad Sanqour al-Bahrani provides a systematic analysis of the doubts raised by some Christians about the Holy Qur'an, focusing on: 1. Systematic criticism of doubts: The author presents the commonly held doubts and analyzes them by: • Referring to Quranic texts and their approved interpretations • Using logic and historical evidence 2. Types of doubts raised: The book addresses various doubts, including: • Doubts about the source of the Quran and the prophethood of Muhammad • Doubts about alleged contradictions in the Quran • Doubts about Quranic stories and characters shared with Christianity • Accusations of distortion or external influence on the Quran 3. Scientific responses: The author provides responses based on: • The historical context of the revelation of the Quran • A correct understanding of the Arabic language and its rhetorical characteristics • Objective comparison with other religious texts • Logical analysis of the claims made In his book, Sheikh Al-Bahrani concludes that most Christian doubts about the Quran are nothing more than: • Misunderstanding of Quranic texts due to a lack of understanding of the characteristics of the Arabic language and the styles of Quranic expression • Reliance on unreliable sources or selective readings of texts, ignoring historical contexts and circumstances of revelation. He affirms that the Holy Quran maintains its internal coherence and consistency with historical and scientific facts, and shows respect for previous prophets, including Jesus Christ, son of Mary (peace be upon him). While emphasizing the pure monotheism of God Almighty, the book calls for an objective dialogue between religions based on correct understanding and accurate knowledge, far from prejudices and accusations unsupported by evidence. It also points to the importance of distinguishing between the positions of some Christians and the general Christian position, emphasizing the values of mutual respect and the joint search for truth. The book remains an important addition to the field of responding to doubts and calls for deepening objective scientific research in the study of different religious texts. After all that we have sought to highlight about the Sheikh's efforts in this book, we urge those who read it to highlight what is hidden between its lines and in its expressions, as it provides an accurate interpretation of the Qur'anic verses and reinforces the doctrinal aspect by interpreting the verses in light of the Imami doctrine.
