Abstract

This research aims to study the Qur’anic concepts found in the narrations attributed to Imam Ali (peace be upon him) in the Four Books: Al-Kafi by Sheikh Al-Kulayni, Man La Yahduruhu Al-Faqih by Sheikh Al-Saduq, and Tahdhib Al-Ahkam and Al-Istibsar Fima Ukhtulifa Min Al-Akhbar by Sheikh Al-Tusi. The study adopts a descriptive and inductive methodology by examining the narrations of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) contained in these books that include Qur’anic concepts, and then referring to books of Qur’anic exegesis to identify and examine the views of exegetes concerning those concepts. The study consists of four chapters. The first chapter addresses the narrations of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) concerning matters of creed. The second chapter examines his narrations concerning acts of worship. The third chapter deals with his narrations concerning transactions and legal punishments (hudud). The fourth and final chapter examines the Qur’anic concepts related to creed. The study concludes that these narrations are of significant importance in explaining and clarifying doctrinal, devotional, transactional, and legal concepts, as well as educational concepts that contribute to a better understanding of matters related to both our religion and our worldly life.
