Following a content analysis process that lasted more than six months, a review of fifty YouTube channels specializing in Quranic and da’wah content, and the viewing and analysis of more than three hundred videos, the study reached a set of findings that we believe answer, to some extent, the main research questions. These findings can be summarized as follows: First: The results showed that contemporary Quranic discourse on YouTube falls into three main categories: The devotional recitation style, which achieves the highest viewership rates and tops the popularity charts; the simplified interpretive style, which presents the meanings of verses in fast-paced, modern language; and the motivational preaching style, which selects specific verses to support certain ideas in human development or self-motivation. Perhaps what is striking here is the decline of the sober, scholarly interpretive style in favor of styles that are more visually and emotionally appealing. Second: The study revealed an interesting phenomenon: a large proportion of Quranic videos—amounting to about 65% of the sample—rely on individual verses or short passages from surahs, with an almost complete disregard for the broader Quranic context. While this phenomenon is understandable in a fast-paced content consumption environment, it raises a major issue regarding the understanding of the Quran as a single, indivisible whole. We found that some channels present verses of prosperity without verses of adversity, and verses of mercy without verses of punishment, resulting in an incomplete Qur’anic discourse that may not reflect the true image of the Qur’an. Third: In terms of impact, an analysis of comments and posts revealed that engagement with digital Qur’anic discourse varies This is quite different from the interaction in traditional lectures. The digital audience is more inclined toward quick, emotional engagement—liking, sharing, and brief comments—and less inclined to delve deeper or ask probing questions. While this may be positive in terms of spreading the verses, it is negative in terms of building a deep and lasting understanding of the Quran. Fourth: A significant disparity in academic level and credibility has been observed among content creators. While some channels are overseen by specialized scholars and well-known Quranic institutes, others are run by individuals with no legitimate qualifications; yet these latter channels may outperform the former in reach due to their production and editing skills. This is a dangerous paradox that makes the least scholarly content the most accessible. Fifth: In terms of language and style, we have observed a clear shift toward Egyptian or Gulf colloquial Arabic in the presentation of Quranic discourse, with a near-total abandonment of Classical Arabic outside the recitation itself. This trend may facilitate understanding for a broad audience, but on the other hand, it may weaken the connection of new generations to the original language of the Quran. Sixth: The study showed that artificial intelligence and advanced editing techniques have begun to make inroads into this field, with the emergence of clips that rely on AI-generated images and videos to depict scenes from the Quran. This phenomenon is controversial: on the one hand, it increases the appeal of the content; on the other hand, it raises significant questions about the limits of representing the unseen and matters not mentioned in the text or the Sunnah. Seventh: Regarding online outreach, it has been found that the most effective Quranic discourse in attracting non-Muslims is that which focuses on the scientific and miraculous aspects of the Quran, followed by discourse on human ethics. Meanwhile, discourse that focuses purely on legislative or doctrinal aspects is less appealing to this audience. Eighth: Finally, we concluded that there is a clear positive correlation between the professionalism of production and the quality of scientific content on the one hand, and dissemination and long-term positive impact on the other. However, this equation requires significant investments that may not be available to most independent da’wah practitioners.

Al-Kut District up to 1958 in Historical Writings. A Historiographical Study

This study represents a critical and examination-based reading of the history of the Kut District by adopting the methodology of "historiography" (the history of history)—a research trend that seeks to analyze and evaluate historical output recorded across various eras. The significance of this work stems from its attempt to bridge the scholarly gap resulting from the absence of comprehensive and systematic studies dedicated to collecting and classifying the historical literature written about the city. Furthermore, it addresses the fragmentation of published historical material, documenting it within a single reference framework and scholarly index to facilitate future retrieval by researchers and interested parties. The chronological scope of the research was defined to end in 1958, serving as a pivotal year that witnessed the July 14 Revolution and the end of the monarchy in Iraq. Conversely, the starting point remained open and unrestricted by a specific year due to the ongoing dispute and divergence among historians and researchers regarding the inception, urban formation, and administrative development of the city of Kut, thereby requiring an examination of all accounts without being confined to a narrow timeline. The analyzed historical material was characterized by extreme abundance and diversity, encompassing historical books, manuscripts, personal memoirs, government reports, and official documents, in addition to contemporary newspapers and periodicals. This, in turn, reflected the multiplicity of political, military, administrative, economic, and social perspectives through which the Kut District has been viewed. Although this diversity may occasionally lead to the recurring appearance of similar events or topics across different chapters of the thesis—given that the source texts address the same occurrences—the study does not consider this repetition a methodological flaw. Rather, it views it as a positive attribute and a strength that reinforces the research; the intersection of narratives and the consensus among diverse sources, regardless of their eras and types, enhances the credibility of historical data. This grants the researcher a broader opportunity for comparative evaluation, criticism, and reaching a closer approximation of historical truth. In this context, a fundamental comparison emerges between the Arabic and foreign literature (British and Turkish) addressing Kut. A clear convergence is evident in the volume of written material between both sides, with foreign literature perhaps even outperforming the Arabic quantitatively in certain aspects. However, this quantitative alignment is contrasted by a significant qualitative divergence in the nature of presentation and approach. The intensive and extraordinary volume of foreign interest was primarily linked to the prominent military event—the "Siege of Kut"—which shocked and surprised both sides, given the occurrence of a major British defeat against an Ottoman victory that came amidst the decline and political-military weakness of the Ottoman Empire. In contrast, the Arabic texts were more diverse and comprehensive; they did not limit themselves to the military dimension but rather delved into the fine details of local, social, administrative, and economic life of the city, along with its precise contexts. Certain foreign source materials derive added scholarly value from being written during the event itself or in a period very close to it, represented by official documents, reports, and memoirs that grant them high accuracy and immediacy compared to many subsequent Arabic studies that relied on retrospective narrative and historical analysis. Nevertheless, the scientific method dictates that these contemporary sources be treated with balanced criticism and analysis, without absolute preference, to uncover their political and intellectual affiliations and contexts. Similarly, a methodological similarity is apparent between journalistic and documentary material, as both are contemporary sources of the events that minimize the probability of later alteration. However, newspapers may involve biased tendencies and rhetorical exaggerations designed to serve specific publishing entities and guide public opinion. This bias does not diminish their value; rather, it becomes rich material for the experienced researcher who possesses the expertise as well as the intellectual and linguistic capacity to read between the lines, deconstructing their explicit and implicit implications and realities. In its methodological conclusion, the study determined that historical truth cannot be reduced to a single narrative or an isolated source. Books carry the backgrounds of their authors, newspapers convey directed instantaneous impressions, and official documents represent the viewpoint of the ruling authority and institution. Consequently, a comprehensive and accurate picture of events can only be formed through a rigorous scholarly approach grounded in diversity, critical comparison among various Arabic and foreign texts, and the cross-referencing of their data. Finally, note should be made of the structural framework of the study, which includes an introduction and four chapters: the first addresses academic outputs, research papers, and university theses; the second specializes in books, manuscripts, and independent works; the third is dedicated to official documents classified into Ottoman, British, and Royal; and the fourth stands independently to encompass journalistic literature and its Turkish, British, and Iraqi sub-sections due to the abundance and diversity of its material

In this study, we examined the Qur’anic authority and reference framework in the book Tuḥaf al-ʿUqūl ʿan Āl al-Rasūl by al-Shaykh Ibn Shu‘bah al-Ḥarrānī, one of the prominent Shi‘a scholars of the fourth Islamic century. The study explored the methodology of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in invoking Qur’anic texts within their sermons, exhortations, and sayings through various mechanisms, some implicit, such as conceptual intertextuality, and others explicit, such as quotation and direct citation. It also investigated how the Qur’anic text was employed in the discourse of the Infallibles (peace be upon them) through three principal functions: the explanatory and interpretive function, the argumentative and evidentiary function, and the educational and directive function. The study then proceeded to examine the role of Qur’anic authority in shaping the intellect and managing society by clarifying its role in activating the inner proof (al-ḥujjah al-bāṭinah), as well as in managing dialogue and debate with opponents. It further highlighted its role in regulating family relationships and promoting health awareness. Subsequently, the study addressed the role of Qur’anic authority in establishing doctrine and organizing legislation. Throughout the study, selected narrations containing Qur’anic texts were analyzed to demonstrate the role of these texts within the discourse of the Infallibles (peace be upon them). The purpose of this was to illustrate the relationship between the Infallible and the Noble Qur’an, the unity of the divine source of both the Qur’anic text and the discourse of the Infallible, and the profound influence of the Qur’anic text upon the speech of the Infallibles.

The printing industry is a fundamental pillar within the vital manufacturing sector, reflecting the level of technological development in societies. The importance of this industry stems from its ability to attract the growing workforce, as well as its significant contribution to meeting local needs for various printed materials. The printing industry in Wasit Governorate is gaining exceptional importance due to its role in raising the economic, social, and cultural level, especially in light of the rapid technological developments in printing equipment and machinery such as risographs, flexographic machines, lasers, light lettering, screens, stamps, and others. This has contributed to improving the quality of printed products and increasing demand for them from all institutions. Economic factors also played a prominent role in the establishment and localization of the industry, such as geographical location, topography, and climate (and human resources including the workforce, capital, transportation, market, and political factors) which contributed to shaping its spatial structure. The study reviewed the types of paper and electronic printing and the most important technologies and machines in printing production processes, in addition to the printing styles and various publications in the economic, marketing, and political fields, and their prominent role in electoral activities The study focused on the geographical analysis of the printing industry. The results showed that Al-Kut district ranked first in industrial standards. Statistical methods also revealed spatial variation in urban centers, with Al-Kut district ranking first in the number of printing presses and workers. This is attributed to the district's capital, experience, scientific qualifications, and other advantages. The results confirmed that the nearest neighbor index (R) indicated that the printing presses followed a clustered pattern, reaching (0.67). The standard distance confirmed that (7109) printing presses were within the circle and (28.1) were outside the circle. This shows that the printing presses in Wasit Governorate tend to be more concentrated than dispersed. A set of future visions was also developed to enhance the developmental dimensions of the printing industry in the governorate. These include the importance of adopting a strategy that supports technological transformation and the development of human resources, including specialized training and qualification of the workforce, attracting investment, and providing government support, including banking facilities. This contributes to supporting the gross domestic product and supporting the private sector, leading to comprehensive development that rises to international standards

The current study addressed the concepts of Academic Decision-Making and Tolerance. Academic decision-making involves a conscious and systematic thinking process that culminates in selecting one of the available alternatives to solve a particular problem or achieve a specific goal. It relies on an individual's experience and personal perspective. Scientifically, decision-making requires following a sequence of steps, including identifying the problem and objective, gathering relevant information, determining the factors influencing the problem, formulating appropriate alternatives, selecting the most suitable option, and subsequently evaluating the outcomes to determine the effectiveness of the decision in solving the problem or achieving the intended objective. Academic decision-making represents one of the challenges faced by teachers, which may negatively affect their professional self-esteem and professional awareness, thereby hindering the achievement of educational goals. Moreover, reliance on traditional and routine solutions that are inconsistent with contemporary educational challenges constitutes a genuine problem that may adversely influence learning outcomes
